Teaching Aids in Education!

Filed under: Uncategorized — zainurredza @ 6:41 pm

Teaching aids are the tools that teachers use them in the classroom such as flash cards, maps, cassette and blackboard. Teaching aids consist of technologies such as the internet, computers and etc to help the students to understand better. Teaching aids is also to help learners improve reading and other skills, illustrate or reinforce a skill, fact, or idea, and relieve anxiety, fears, or boredom, since many teaching aids are like games. For this chapter, my partner Hasif Jazila had created a simple way to teach adjectives to students. These are the procedure:

Procedure
This activity is to further enhance the basic knowledge of adjectives within the students and help them to expand their understanding of the topic. The procedure or steps of this activity is as below:
1. First, clarify the definitions of adjectives.
o Remind students that nouns are things you can hold in your hand as well as those abstract ideas you are unable to hold in your hand, like pride, vanity, greed, etc.
o Remind students that adjectives are words that describe nouns.
2. Give students examples of both nouns and adjectives.
3. Tell students they are to create a wanted poster of themselves. It would be helpful if students brought in a school picture of themselves.
4. Tell students they are to paste or otherwise stick a picture of themselves to a piece of paper on which they can write on.
5. Below their picture, they are to use adjectives to describe themselves.
6. Allow students to decorate the paper.
7. Decorate your classroom walls with their beautiful creations.

Example of the results is like this:

Once the papers are placed on the walls, let the student observe the writings of each of their classmates and let them see what have their other classmates have listed on what they are “wanted” for. By doing so, they are able to see it with their own eyes and having written down the adjectives on their own, hence they are able to understand it much better. Because, nowadays students do not have the adequate strength of their basics of the grammar, this activity may seem simple but it is very effective in the long run.

The objectives of doing this activity is to let the students to be aware of their understanding in adjectives, to help the students in trying to let their ideas flow, and basically to ensure that the students know what they have been learning.

Video in education!

Filed under: Uncategorized — zainurredza @ 6:18 pm

The term video (“video” meaning “I see”, from the Latin verb “videre”) commonly refers to several storage formats for moving pictures: digital video formats, including Blu-ray Disc, DVD, QuickTime, and MPEG-4; and analog videotapes, including VHS and Betamax. Video can be recorded and transmitted in various physical media: in magnetic tape when recorded as PAL or NTSC electric signals by video cameras, or in MPEG-4 or DV digital media when recorded by digital cameras. Quality of video essentially depends on the capturing method and storage used. Video in education is one of the tool that can help the teachers in expanding their teaching. For this chapter, my group, consisted of 7 people, me myself, Alfian asmi, Farah Aqilah, Joy Gracia LIso, Hasif Jazila, Ku Mohd Azrie and Luke Kenny was given a task of developing a short video on the world. We decided in human’s greediness and their true appearance. The movie took us around 3 days (if i’m not mistaken) in filming and 2 weeks of developing. For the filming, we choose Bukit Bintang for the location. This is because it is fill of life, and that is what we need to potray. I was one of the actor, a snobbish, arrogant, wealthy but the truth is i wasn’t. Farah Aqilah was the other actor who is not who people thinks she is. Afther all, we are not we seem. It was a great experience for me because that was my first time acting out in public. And it was good to have friends that support me during the filming. Luke, Ku, Joy, Alfian and Hasif was the main people in developing this video. They are the ones that makes the video as great as it is. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to upload the video, but i will try to put the link in the near future. All in all, it was a great assignment and we did a fantastic job of doing it. By the way, all of our video filming, we mostly used Farah Aqilah’s camera, which is a sony.

Graphic in education!

Graphics are visual presentation presentations on some surface, such as a wall, canvas, computer screen, paper, or stone to brand, inform, illustrate, or entertain. Examples are photographs, drawings, Line Art, graphs, diagrams, typography, numbers, symbols, geometric designs, maps, engineering drawings, or other images. Graphics often combine text, illustration, and color. Graphic design may consist of the deliberate selection, creation, or arrangement of typography alone, as in a brochure, flier, poster, web site, or book without any other element. Clarity or effective communication may be the objective, association with other cultural elements may be sought, or merely, the creation of a distinctive style. Graphic education provides teachers and other educators with unique, time-saving resources by facilitating students’ conceptual development in an exciting way.Graphic Education is about the production and supply of quality teaching resources produced by teachers for teacher and student classroom use. There are 2 types of graphic which are analogical and organization. Also, there are 5 elements of graphic and they are space, line, surface, shape and form. Students learn best when they have something they want to do on the computer.

Phtography in Education

Filed under: Uncategorized — zainurredza @ 8:34 am

Education has continued to evolve, diversify and extend its reach and coverage since the dawn of human history. Every country develops its system of education to express and promote its unique socio-cultural identity and also to meet the challenges of the times. There are various methods for making the curriculum more interesting, enjoyable and child-centred. Attempts have been made using media like puppetry, theatre, songs, games, etc. Photography is one of them. But what is a camera exactly? A camera An apparatus for taking photographs, generally consisting of a lightproof enclosure having an aperture with a shuttered lens through which the image of an object is focused and recorded on a photosensitive film, plate, or sensor. Furthermore, a camera is also is a part of a television transmitting apparatus that receives the primary image on a light-sensitive cathode-ray tube and transforms it into electrical impulses. Photography help make subjects like the environment, heritage, nature, people, festivals, places, etc., more interesting and meaningful for children belonging to rural areas, slums, streets, schools and tribal areas. Photography mirrors reality, an art as well as science; it captures and reproduces reality with accuracy. Its services span the range of human needs, both practical and emotional. It plays a vital role in helping to preserve records of different fields of study, in preserving the cultural heritage, in business, industry, education, medicine, criminology and defence services, coupled with keeping a record of special occasions in day-to-day life. Photography provides the thrill of catching and freezing a moment, a scene, a smile, a movement and looking back at it. It is a creative art involving the child physically and psychologically. The pride of reproducing a moment encourages the child to look at the world through his own eyes.

Reka bentuk Dan Penilaian Media

Filed under: Uncategorized — zainurredza @ 7:28 am

If i’m not mistaken, this was the first or fifth lesson for my lecture in Computer in Education. Either way, i uploaded the slides in spin, so i don’t know whether i’m right or not. Basically, reka bentuk dan penilaian media is about tells us about the concepts of creating ways to teach, the use of creating teaching, and the evaluation of the media in teaching. According to Dick and Reiser (1989), the concept of creating ways of teaching is a systematic process of creating, uprising, achieving and the evaluation of the teaching. The media plays an important role whereby it is a medium to send information to the people. Through media, the information will spread easily. In this chapter, there are 6 important basic rules of the instructional media and technologies for learning. They are determining the necessities of the students, determine the objective and goals, creating an evaluation procedure, creating and choosing the best strategy in presenting, trying the teaching system and evaluate the entire system. From my point of view, I can see that the media is an important tool to help in creating effective ways of teaching. The media includes the internet, computer, cameras, radio, and etc. These are the tools that can help teachers in their teaching. Effective and Creative. Words of any teachers would like to apply in their teaching.

the eagle!

Filed under: Uncategorized — zainurredza @ 7:18 pm

Here is Alfred Tennyson’s famous poem the eagle. The Eagle is a brief but vivid glimpse into the world of this powerful bird. At first glance, the poem shows a very simple yet innovative kind of an understanding. This poem is very short but is full of meanings. In the initial three-line stanza, the eagle is pictured in a lofty position, on a crag ‘close to the sun’. Tennyson uses alliteration in the first line: ‘He clasps the crag with crooked hands’, a hard ‘c’ sound recurring and then continuing in the word ‘Close’ at the beginning of the second line. Tennyson likens the eagle to a person with the term ‘hands’. The alliteration of the phrase ‘lonely lands’ in the second line emphasizes the bird’s solitude. In the final line of the third stanza, the eagle is seen is being ‘Ring’d with the azure world”, in other words the sky, so once again his elevated position is focused on.

The opening line of the second stanza switches to the view below the mountain top in the personifying phrase ‘The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls’. The waves are reduced to the size of wrinkles, again emphasizing how far above the sea the eagle is. In the second line, the eagle is watching ‘from his mountain walls’, making his position sound secure, protected. In the final line, Tennyson uses a simile to create an image of the bird’s swift and powerful descent on his prey: ‘And like a thunderbolt he falls.’

In short, the poem tells us about a series of things an eagle does. We can see the eagle clinging through the mountains, flying to the air and surrounded by the blue sky. But, after reading through the poem, we can see that the eagle is refers to as he. Here, the poet’s, in my point of view is trying to implicate how the eagle is connected to the blue sky, the open air, and the ocean. Tennyson’s poem the Eagle has regular rhyme and uses other poetic devices like alliteration, personification and simile. The first three stanzas focus on the eagle but the final three focuses on the eagle’s world and nature. The literary devices of the poem and the powerful imaginary combination make the poem a simple poem to understand. It does not have any complication and it revolves into a world of an eagle which is unique.
